It is said that Cleopatra slept in a gold mask every night.. and you KNOW how i feel about Cleopatra!! Chinese empresses supposedly used gold rollers to massage their faces.  

However, the precious metal has not been commonly used for modern day treatments because it is very difficult to make it penetrate the skin. UMO claims that it has developed technology which allows staff at the Charleston Place spa in South Carolina, where the 24-carat facial is offered, to overcome this problem.

The First of a long line of Specials

So last week... or maybe two weeks ago... i made my friend a very special brunch item..becasue he had NEVER had a BENEDICT!!! can you imagine?!?!?


I had been to the restaurant "Root Down" in Denver... and they had the most amazing Benedict you could ask for, so i replicated it for him as his introductory... cuz well.. that's just how i DO!



Instead of an English muffin, i used Quinoa... YUM! and instead of Canadian Bacon, i used turkey... top that with a poached egg... some Hollandaise and chopped tomatoes... OYE VAY that's delicious!!!


On the side i pan fried a combination of russet and sweet potatoes with a spice blend that will knock your socks off!! (recipe to follow) 


For the greenery... simple was best.. lemon dressed greens... arugala or frisee generally work the best... but any green will suffice. 


Potato Seasoning
1 tablespoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon granulated sugar
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper


Throw seasoning on after potatoes are cooked or at table and enjoy!!

Had to finish it off with a short stack and strawberry syrup!!

High 'Flyin' Collars

I'm not one for collars.. since to me that's what a noose must feel like... BUT i saw these this morning.. and since i am a lover of all wings *winks* and leathers.... i'm throwing a little love that way!! 
These leather accessories by Norwegian designer Anne Holm Alexandersen are FREAKIN AWESOME!! . Her gorgeous handmade collars and ornaments are created from small feather-shaped bits of leather which are then attached together to replicate wings. Her pieces include collar-styled necklaces, hair pins, brooches and earrings.

By far my fave piece!! 

Optical Illusions

I'm struggling today with the facade of family... so no other pictures or words seemed to be as effective in conveying those feelings as... optical illusions!

We all know what optical illusions are.. but Wiki said it best.....

Before there was Harry Potter and Twilight... it was the Addams Family that held down the darkness for our viewing pleasure... and no one darker than Morticia Addams herself...

If you like the goth, semi-goth or just occasional goth looking nails.. i FULLY suggest you take swoop up a pack of these and get your nail on!! All the colors are very mysterious and represent Morticia Addams' signature style. The colors are named Midnight Tango, Bone Chilling White and Blood Curdling Red. But beware, they are very limited edition and once they are gone... well you know!

SUGAR GLASSES??? WHAT?? stop the madness!! hahaha

SO not only are cool drinks the bees knees during the summer... but add a cup made of sugar.. or sugar-esque stuff is almost enough to bowl you right over!!
Fast forward to these colorful cups that are entirely out of agar agar and cast in different flavors, such as lemon-basil, ginger-mint, or rosemary-beet. They can actually enhance the flavor of the drink being held in them. So here i am .. doing my ususal morning perusing when outta the shadows pops out THIS lovely whimsical piece of furniture!! Now i'm not sure of the functionality and of the logistice ( ie size of room needed and such) but i DO sure as shit know i want one... and will move out my living room furniture to have one!!! i am just SAYIN!

Everyone's goin green!!! ... that's the IN word these days...so I figured I'd do MY part!! 
Since i use quite a few paper plates...this idea seemed like a no brainer... except it is! 
if you have read previous postings, you KNOW i dinner or brunch or snack party all the time..

 Diane Bisson, a Université de Montréal industrial design professor, teamed up with chefs and a dietitian to create recipes for edible plates and containers in various shapes, all made without preservatives, artificial colours or sugar.

She focused on using vegetables and vegetable flours, such as water chestnut flour, as well as fruit, beans and bean flours. A dish that paired grilled, caramelized fennel with white beans was the inspiration for one plate.Colours of the containers spanned the spectrum from red to yellow, orange, green, brown and black. She used quinoa and poppyseed flour to make one black container. (via thestar.com)

I'm an entertainer... whether it be on stage with a mic.. in a pair of tap shoes on stage... or in the kitchen choppin up veggies...entertaining's in my blood, a part of my soul! more than anything i love having people over and feeding them!! 
So since fondue-ing and 'self-cooking'  has been on my agenda as of late... i thought THIS would be a perfect addition to previous posts said menagerie of gadgets!!

I'm not sure if you say it.. but i find myself saying Cool Beans alllll the time... looks like i'm gonna have to make an addition to my crazy kitchen menagerie of miscellaneous gadgets!! and for around $8 bucks a pop... i won't have to break the bank either! Plus on the plus plus side... you won't have to worry about watered down iced coffee... you just have to remember to refill the "ice" trays.

Ok, i can justify pretty much any amount of unreasonable amount of money for most products... simply by stating that it's the best... but 1.5 MILLION dollars for an OFFICE CHAIR??? c'mon now LOL... who wants to spend THAT much time at work...obviously billionaires who spend endless hours at the office!! 

Pininfarina, the Italian car design firm, is best known for their luxury car projects - Ferrari, Lamborghini and Maserati. But they have recently created an innovative ergonomic chair and likely the world’s most expensive office chair for the Middle East luxury market.

The Aresline Xten costs $1.5 million. For that tidy sum, the user gets Technogel which conforms to the body’s contour which reduces seating pressure and fatigue. Dynamic and durable fabric of Olympic athlete calibre covers the chair. It also boasts Dynamic Synchronized Tilting for independent tilting of back and seat.

I don't know..... for that much dough this chair better do my work and suggest investments often!!

Well, we may not have flying cars -- or moving walkways that sweep us to our office chairs for that matter -- but soon we will have the YikeBike, an electric bicycle that tucks neatly into a bag little bigger than a briefcase. Its styling queues are decidedly futuristic penny-farthing, with the large front wheel, tiny rear, and little mustache handlebar, but that front wheel is driven by an electric motor giving a range of 9km and a top speed of 20km/h. No word on how long a full charge takes, but 80 percent requires only 20 minutes. Cost being over $5,500 it's going to be something of a tall sale for a short ride.
