*snicker* at the snickerdoodle

 All in all the Snickerdoodle is pretty amazing!! I mean you get that nice soft middle with just a HINT of cinnamon sugar on top.. YUMMY!! Unfortunately for me, I tend to forget about the darn Snicker D.. but not this Christmas!!! 
No Sir-ee, so here's my fave recipe for the doodle..

Snickerdoodles III Recipe


  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 tspp vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tblsp white sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon


  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees
  2. Combine 1 1/2 cups white sugar, butter or margarine, vanilla and eggs. Mix well.
  3. Stir in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Blend well. 
  4. Shape dough into 1 inch balls. 
  5. Combine 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon. 
  6. Roll dough in sugar/cinnamon mixture and place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets. 
  7. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until set. 
  8. Remove cookies right awaycookie sheets.

For a little something different, add butterscotch chips, or crystalized ginger... the options are endless.
